My 3G Life! Direct Dil Se…..

Woah! Already 40+ bloggers have uploaded their posts to grab the one lakh prize money from NTT DOCOMO, Tata DOCOMO for two posts which they choose. Check out here http://www.indiblogger.in/topic.php?topic=30. I think I'm very late in this race. Nevertheless, here is my post for the same contest, no gimmicks, no tricks, no hi-tech references, a simple straight forward post I can imagine in My 3G Life. Direct Dil Se from a non-professional and a non-tech blogger.

Coming straight to the topic, if I had (wish I had) a 3G internet connection in my life, here are some possible real scenarios where I would have used it.

If I had 3G at my home......

I would not have to keep on staring my monitor for 10 minutes just for watching a 10 minutes video clip on YouTube.
I would not have to switch on my PC whole night (almost 8 to 10 hours) just to download a movie file size with 700+ MB.
I would not have to wait for one hour to download my 100+ MB emails from my outlook inbox.
I would not have to run behind the officials to fix my broadband connection which breaks down every week and get frustrated for paying Rs. 1300/- per month for a pathetic service they provide.
I would not have to sit always in front of computer table for my browsing and work. You just can't trust the wireless connection from our great broadband service provider.
I would not have to always depend on my TV and cable/DTH connection to watch my favorite programmes.

The list is endless if I keep on adding things, but I'll put a dot now.

Ok, now! if I had a 3G connection while I'm on move/ or out......

I would not have to always wait to get access to internet from PC to upload/share a picture or a video to my close ones.
I would not have to keep on waiting n staring at busy symbol for a simple web to load on my mobile screen.
I would not have to come home if I want to video chat with my close ones.
I would not have to always dependent on my PC or laptop to download a mp3 file or a video.
I would not have to connect my PC or laptop to pay my utility bills etc.,
I would not have to always depend on strangers n auto-drivers to find out any addresses if I visit any new city or place.

Again, this list too endless and I'll put a dot here too and move on..

Above are some of the things which would have avoided if we had a 3G.

Ok, imagining that I have a 3G connection both on move n at home.... Would try to give some points of My 3G Life!

I would have got an additional an connection to my family and would do the video call many times while I'm at office or outside so that I won't miss my lovely son n wife.
I would talk , video chat with my close buddies online.
I would upload high quality images n high definition videos too which I take from my smart android phone Samsung Galaxy S which was highly unlikely when I use a normal GPRS mobile internet.
I would always stay connected to my social network via Twitter, Facebook and Orkut.
I would not think about carrying my laptop anywhere while I travel to my relatives in other cities no matter if they have internet connection at their home so that I can do my on-call activities from anywhere unlike earlier where I had to plan my vacation according to my on-call schedule.
I would do the live streaming of any events which attend where my friends cannot attend.
I would play online games with my pals.

Once again, the list is endless n we can keep on adding hundreds of beneficial and useful things which we can achieve using a stable 3G connection from Tata DOCOMO. I would end this here.

Virtual to Real

Yup! The post title absolutely suits for yesterday's @IndiBlogger's meet (yeah! I'm so addicted to #twitter that I've started using '@' and '#' even in my IM chat windows as well as in generic posts, never mind about that). It was supposedly #indiblogger's 5th meetup in bangalore and mine 3rd meetup with IndiBlogger.in members on 3rd October 2010 at Fortune JP Celestial, Bangalore at 2 PM. Though the meet was at 2 PM, I reached the venue at 1:30 PM itself and could meet the absolutely wonderful Indiblogger core team whom I had met during my last meets too, these guys are absolutely rocking and full enthusiastic chaps. I wish more success to them. This time the event was partnered with Fortune Park JP Celestial, Orchid, Nevada Bar-n-Lounge and HP (Printer division). Yeah, HP and indiblogger had announced a lovely contest called 'Spirits of Bangalore' for which the guys who are travelling towards the venue for the meet, had to take pictures of anything that captures the spirit of Bangalore and send that pic to an email id called indiblr@indiblogger.in which would print that picture directly to the printer and those pictures would be posted to 'wall of fame' board. The 3 chosen pictures from bloggers would win 3 cool HP Deskjet Printers. In verge of winning, I too clicked almost 7 pictures and emailed them, unluckily none got selected as winning picture , but only satisfaction is they all got printed and was on 'wall of fame' board.

Ok, enough rant. Now as I said in post title, it was a 'Virtual to Real' meet. It was so good to see/associate the faces to the email ID's, blogger ID's and Twitter ID's, the lovely friends who were virtual and could catch them up in real. The event started at standard IST at 2:30 PM around. Yeah Yeah you already know what is IST (Indian Stretachble Time) ;). Started with nice and funny introduction from @AnoopZombie who introduced his Indiblogger core team and IndiPolice team. Then came '30 seconds of Fame' as per agenda which is Indiblogger members introduction in 30 seconds. Funny and awesome introductions would entitle to win a HP printer again, it was totally a lucky day for around 10 people who took away cool HP Printers in the entire event which HP gave away. Well, I couldn't win here too :( . There were better intro's than mine, so no issues. My best wishes to all who had won. I met my and sitting along with old online pals like @pranxter (Prasanna), @rajvj/@msigeek (Vijay), @Kashyapa (Lohith) , @ShivSeo (Shiva) etc., in first rows and was having absolutely funny time pulling each others leg by live tweeting the event with hashtag #IndiBlr on twitter. It was totally fun posting live tweets from the event. Thanks to our smartphones which kept the meet more interesting and alive. Check out the tag #indiblr on twitter which will be a total fun read. It was kinda boring to hear almost 200+ intros , the hall was totally full with Indiblogger members, prolly this was the meet with highest members in #Bangalore. Finally it came to an end. There were too many funny,Lovely and Witty introductions from different members and it was good to know them.

Post that introductions, then came a presentation from "HP Print for life" team which was nice and good to know about their latest printers which has so many good features involved in them.

Finally, the much awaited and interesting 'Live and Let comment' moment arrived where one has to hang the drawing sheets around their neck and get introduced and meet with different indiblogger members and get comments on their sheets which was hanging behind their backs. :). It was total zombie and fun to see so many people introducing each other and getting comments on their back. The catch here was the guys who get more comments on their sheets would walk away with cool goodies from HP again, so many were running around to meet as many people as possible to get more and more comments. Yeah yeah, even me. Unfortunately after much effort I could meet and get comments from around 50 ppl and the guy who got 65 comments won a gift from HP.

While this was going on, they started serving Samosa, Sandwich and coffee. Thanks to Fortune Park JP and indiblogger. Had around 6 samosa's which were very tasty. :) Yeah, diet gaya tel lene, they were so good :)

Finally towards the end of the event there was a short presentation from Anvin on mobile blogging followed by IndiForum discussions with Indipolice team. There were me nice discussions from @MohanBN and others. We never knew a term called 'Civil Defense' which we came to know from couple of members from 'Civil Defense team'. This team encourages people to report about wrong happenings around us in our daily life (like pollution etc.,)

Oops! How can I miss a heartfelt case study which was explained by our great blogger (who is blind), Mr. Raghava Satish (@raghavasatish). When I hear talk from this guy, somehow I always stick to my chair and listen to him. That's the power of his speech. You visit his blog http://raghava.in whenever you get chance to know who he is and what is his caliber. I'm a big fan of him.

Finally, there were some more goodies left out and they were handed over to some guys like Youngest blogger, oldest blogger, the person wearing pink, a lady who impressed the dark indiblogger core team men (as @anoopzombie explained himself) as handsome men and finally a gift for Raghav too. :)

The event ended at around 6:15 and all were ready to get back to their homes. It was nice to see my photos on 'wall of fame' board outside while I was exiting from the venue. All my pics which I posted were there.

Atlast, I would love to keep in touch with you all Indiblogger meet virtually :) I'm always accessible via twitter via @Raj2s (Yup! Naviladavaru Screening in Bangalore - Oct 2nd 2010 - Don't miss it

Good news for Bangalore people that the Awesome short movie called 'Naviladavaru' directed by Mr. Giriraj which was made using just 35000/- (read more about the movie here in my last post here http://dotslashraj.blogspot.com/2010/05/navilaadavaru-movie-done-with-only.html ) will be screened again on Oct 2nd 2010 at 5 PM at K V Subbanna Intimate theatre (also called K V Subbanna Apta Ranga Mandira. Address: 7th Cross, Teachers' Colony,1st Stage near Dayananda Sagar College, Bangalore, Karnataka 560078, India +91 80 2290 9394). I would urge my friends to somehow make out time from your schedule and watch this movie without miss to appreciate a budding director in Kannada Film Industry. I'm planning to watch it again tomorrow.

Navilaadavaru – A movie done with only 35000/- budget

I had read about this 35000/- movie on twitter and also heard about the same from some TV channels some days back. On 8^th May 2010, Mr. Giriraj the director of this Movie 'Navilaadavaru' was interviewed on RedFM radio channel by RJ Pallavi, that is when I came to know that the film is being screened on 9^th May 2010 at K H Kala Soudha, Hanumanth Nagar, Bangalore (http://www.asklaila.com/listing/Bangalore/Hanumantha+Nagar/K+H+Kala+Soudha/Ov55n2Ux/). I was eagerly wanted to see his work and waited for Sunday morning. I went there earlier at 10:20 AM only when no audiences have turned out yet, I got a chance to meet Mr. Giriraj and wished him all the best. He is a nice, humble guy who spoke so nicely. Slowly audiences started coming in, by 11 AM, around 60-70 people came to watch the screening of this movie. Most of them are his friends and some new audiences. Also, there were some people from film land too. K H KalaSoudha is a nice auditorium which can accommodate around 150 people. Nice seats, nice ambience. They couldn't release this movie to the wide audience due to the budget problems as they could not register this movie for Censorship. For any public screening even in some film festivals in India, 'Navilaadavaru' has to get the censor certificate. But Giriraj has to become a member of the Producers' Association which will cost Rs 50,000. So, the movie is being screened privately to the smaller audience and they have done this movie mainly for a film festival organised by a local film institute in Spain. This movie is completed in Just 12 days between March 4th and 19th 2010.

A laudable thing is, this movie is entirely shot using Canon DSLR still camera which has video recording option. The camera he used for shooting was the one professionals use for shooting advertisements. "It can be screened at 70 mm," says Giriraj to Bangalore Mirror.

This movie is based on the subject 'Terrorism'. Cast: Giriraj, Pradeep, Revathi and Achyut in main roles. I don't want to reveal the story as it will take the credit away for the great effort put by Mr. GiriRaj. You should watch it whenever this will be screened at different places. But, the movie made me truly spellbound and I just could not stop appreciating the effort Mr. GiriRaj has put for this movie and the acting by the actors. Mr. GiriRaj himself acted as a main terrorist in this movie and its just amazing. Pradeep and Revathi too acted well as main actors of this movie. Achyut Kumar who is an experienced actor and acted in many kannada movies shines as a Police Inspector. His character too well etched and he given the shots to perfection. This movie has 3 songs too which is well orchestrated by Ashley and team without taking any charge from Giriraj. The music have come out well too. The movie has a great beginning and superb climax too. As a normal audience, I loved every bit of the movie.

No one moved when the movie was being screened and everyone applauded the effort of Giriraj post screening. There was an interactive session with Giriraj post screening and all of the people who spoke applauded the effort and appreciated and motivated Giriraj to make more such movies in future. A Gentleman offered him 1 crore rupees too for his future ventures. One more person/friend of Giriraj offered him 1 Lakh rupees for his future ventures and there were some people from filmland, media too. All appreciated the efforts put by Giriraj and blessed him for giving such a nice movie. Only unfortunate thing is, this movie is not able to reach wide audience at this point of time. May be people if more such screenings happen in city and around Karnataka, Giriraj would get more visibility. Such artists should be appreciated so that Kannada film industry would be improve with quality films.

Finally, as I said earlier, am totally spellbound with this movie and I would love to watch it again and again when it will be screened. I've taken the contact details of Mr. Giriraj and I'd love to give him as much publicity as possible from my side. So, whenever next screening happens, I'll definitely let you guys know and I urge to watch it without miss.

Raghu Dixit's Performance at IISC-Bangalore on 28th Feb 2010

Its yet again one more concert from Southern Rockstar Raghu Dixit at IISC-Bangalore on 28th Feb 2010 which I didn't miss again this time too. When everyone was watching exciting Hockey World Cup match between India and Pak where India beat Pak by 4-1 goals, I was enjoying the rockin Raghu's performance which was just too amazing in front of thousands of audience gathered at IISC grounds. Stage was awesomely set and Raghu set the stage on fire with his Superb performance. Luckily I got to stand right near the stage to enjoy this show and take videos of all the songs which Raghu performed and also got chance to click pics in close. As usual, Raghu started with his regular opening song 'Hey Bhagvan' followed with sequence of awesome numbers like 'Ambar', 'Neene beku', 'lokada chinte'(which Raghu made audience also to sing which was awesome), 'kodagana koli nungitta', title song from 'just maat maatalli', 'I'm In Mumbai Waiting For A Miracle', 'har saas mein har dhadkan mein tum' and finally his usual closing song 'Mahadeshwara' from the movie 'Psycho', he always sings that song in last to keep his audience stick to the show till end as its a super-duper hit and its a usual strategy by any performer. And I stayed back till last song and also post the show, I got a awesome chance to Meet Raghu Dixit too, take snaps along with him and got chance to talk to him too. It was a nice and superb momemt for me. Lot of people were flocking him for photos, autographs etc., he patiently responded to everyone and co-operated for photos and gave autographs to everyone who asked for it. It was really a nice weekend for me and I don't regret missing Hockey worldcup match between India and Pakistan. Uploaded some pictures here in my flickr account. It was m(tw)eetup time again for me with blogger and tweeters at Indiblogger / KF sponsored event at Kyra theatre, Indiranagar on 21st Feb 2010.

There were around 150 people who had registered for the event and approximately around 100 blogger/microbloggers attended the meetup.

Event started with a funny (spoofed) video of Hitler who wanted to attend 'Indiblogger/KF meetup' Check out the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEErv1rICqo . Everyone laughed their heart(a$$) out for this excellent video.

It was absolutely great to meet most/all of them. Frankly, could not meet all of them as time was short and people were more, nevertheless it was really nice to hear excellent experiences from different bloggers about their blog, their life etc., in 30 secs of fame where everyone introduced about themselves. Beer was served for all and beer guzzlers were very happy. Its bit sad that KF/Indiblogger didn't worried about teetotalers, nevertheless, It was a great fun meeting lot of people and I'm not complaining. Hopefully, KF/Indiblogger will address this next time. Then came a nice experience of meeting the bloggers in person. KF/Indiblogger came up with an nice idea of comments on drawing sheet. They gave the drawing sheets to everyone with a thread tied to it, the guys has to hang it over their neck and meet all the bloggers out there and get comments on that drawing sheet. People enjoyed writing nice comments / Nasty comments too on each others back. It was a nice fun and got a good chance to meet many people, however as I said time was really short and couldn't catch up with more people and also since meeting many people for the first time, it was really tough to remember the names and blogs of them, so hopefully everyone Indiblogger team who took attendance of the attendees, will put the names at one place of all the people who had attended the event and that would be of great help. Anyhow I could make note of all the persons details (their name, blogname) so that I can put a comment on their blog and further continue communicating with them through their blog or twitter id. There was couple of gifts too for the two people who got more comments on their sheets. Two guys won the T-Shirt for 27 and 24 comments on their sheets. I got 15 comments, I met many but didn't take comments from all, else I could have won a T-Shirt from Indiblogger. Well, past is past.. can't complain.

I met many people from my last Indiblogger meetup at Potluck Restaurant and it was nice seeing them again in this meet. I could see and hear lot of great experiences from excellent bloggers/ SEO experts in that room and I'm no where in front of them in blogging scene. Hopefully, I'll show more interest in blogging and will continue to blog like them .. I was really thrilled to hear when Raghava Sathish says he earns very good income through his blogs/SEO being visually impaired and he is a true motivator for me. Money is not the main motivator here for me, but the enthusiasm which he has for blogging/SEO. He is running his life through his blogs. This one man himself was a great inspirer for many bloggers out there to go out and write in their blogs. Then, came Q&A session where lot of lovely questions were asked and may experienced bloggers gave their valuable answers and suggestions which was really helpful for newbie bloggers and everyone too. Almost everyone wanted to talk, interact and discuss.. but time was the main concern as we had to pack up exact at 6 PM since Kyra is the busiest place in Indiranagar and they had different appointments lined up for the hall.. Overall, it was a great time spent at Indiblogger/KF meet and I will remember it in future. Personal thanks to Renie Revin, Anoop Zombie, Karthik DR, entire Indiblogger team, KF team and KyraBLR. I wish to attend many more m(tw)eetups like this in future too.

PC help required: Virus affected WinXP.

My windoze xp infected with virus,cannot boot into it using safe mode too,or last know good configiration too. Any free usb boot disk with latest AV update which can do the job? I'm asking usb coz I don't have floppy drive,have DVD writer, but its there on affected machine,so cannot burn image onto that. Any more pointers? I have a old win98 boot CD, but I don't think we can plug in USB and get access to it so that we could have scanned using some command line scanning tool.

No,I don't want to format and reinstall xp.

Kingfisher Ultra Beer Tweetup on 16th Jan 2010

Yesterday attended KF Ultra beer tweetup (details here: http://twtvite.com/kvj1gk). #kfultra hashtag on twitter, it was almost a most trending topic yesterday on twitter) The meet was arranged at Urban Edge / NYK's. This was organized by @kingfisherworld. This was first time attending this kind of meet with drinkers me being a non-drinker :) (ofc, there were some others too). @kingfisherworld was nice enough to get us mocktails and cold drinks for non-drinkers. Nice veg startes like baby corn manchurian, panner manchurian, peanut masala, non-veg starters etc., were tasting too good too. I had totally a rocking time yesterday with people from different background. Even though all of them/most of them were drinkers, they were well behaved and I kind of not left out. Thankfully there were non-drinkers too which kept me busy talking to them too. KF hosts Adi and Sambhav were good at hosting the party and lot of fun contests too (like beer guzzling contest, Movie contest and music contests) where some lucky guys won themselves a good bag with 5 DVD's in each bag. For beer guzzling contest, they had to chose 5 people for the competition, the ones who tweets this sentence "#KFultra beer guzzling" 5 times would be eligible for the contest, I mis-understood the contest and tweeted 5 times using my Blackberry very fastly by doing copy-paste :) in each tweet and funny part I got selected for the contest, I was like, WTF, I'm not selected for gift and only for selection for the contest, I being non-drinker. Then I nominated @iwannaquitmyjob to drink on behalf of me and he agreed to give the gift to me, but unfortunately he came 2nd in 'beer guzzling' contest. It was fun. We (team of five members, myself, @vasudhara, @prat3Ek, @normaltusker and @vasudhara's friend ) came 2nd in movie contest too and came last in Music contest too. So we didn't win anything.. Well, moreover the gifts, it was the good times which mattered and we loved it. There was some nice music in background which was played in background which was a absolute party mode. I think it was the most remembered day for most drinkers where they drunk lot of beer non-stop and beer was unlimited FREE from @kingfisherworld. Those who love beer really missed this party. Finally at 9:45 PM, I had to start back to home after spending nice time at #KFULTRA tweetup. I would love to join the meet again in future too :). Its long time since I updated anything to my blog. Last update was about Chotu's turnover in march, he has come long way now by passing crawling, sitting , and standing on his own with little support from furniture or anything little support which he gets.. Below are some snaps in the collage He is now 11 month 21 days, we are very excited for his upcoming birthday.. He tries to talk now, does lot of naughty activities, its just fun to be with him and we don't know how time gets passed when he is around. Right now, he is in mysore at his Grandma's house since a week, I'm missing him so much, will go to Mysore tonight or tomorrow to see, and hug my cutie pie :) I'm very excited. Thats it for now, Nov 12th is his Birthday and we are planning for a small function at home.. More updates to follow later... Take care and Enjoy !!

A man and his wife were spending the day at the zoo. She was wearing a loose fitting, pink dress, sleeveless with straps. He was wearing his usual jeans and T-shirt.
As they walked through the ape exhibit, they passed in front of a large, silverback gorilla.
Noticing the wife, the gorilla went crazy. He jumped on the bars, and holding on with one hand and 2 feet he grunted and pounded his chest with his free hand. He was obviously excited at the pretty lady in the pink dress.
The husband, noticing the excitement, thought this was funny. He suggested that his wife tease the poor fellow some more by puckering her lips and wiggling her bottom. She played along and the gorilla got even more excited, making noises that would wake the dead.
Then the husband suggested that she let one of her straps fall to show a little more skin.
She did... And the gorilla was about to tear the bars down.
"Now... Show your thighs and sort of fan your dress at him," he said. This drove the gorilla absolutely crazy, and he started doing flips.
Then the husband grabbed his wife, ripped open the door to the cage, flung her in with the gorilla and slammed the cage door shut.
"Now. Tell him you have a headache."

Sound proof-how to?

I work in night shift too these days(22:00 to 6:00) and its becoming very tough to get continuous sleep during day time due to the noise of vehicles outside and also due to the noise inside house from mom (TV + vessels noises). How can I make my room sound proof or what are the options available to sleep peacefully for atleast 6 hrs without disturbance? I shut all the windows, close the door completely, but still sound enters my ears. How can I avoid it? I tried cotton inside ears, no use. On the other day, tried plugging headphone connected to laptop and started playing some instrumental music, that helped a bit avoiding extenal noise, but that itself is a noise, not a practical solution. Is there something which blocks every noise entering my ears? Suggestions and Comments please.

I got glued to TV till the pesentation ceremony was over even though my eyes were looking for a sleep after a tiring bus journey from Mysore to Bangalore. Appreciate Sehwag, Gambhir, Sachin and Yuvraj for their brilliant batting. This was one match which every cricket lover would remember forever.

Ride to Mysore on Dio - Completed

Ride to Mysore completed by 2 PM today. It was a tiring,lazy and boring ride , since I had to limit the speed within 50 km/hr coz scooter is new and it had complete running in. Took some breaks for nariyal paani etc.,. Not much back pain as I was . Handling Dio was good. Liked the smooth flow of new Dio.

On the way, dropped 4 school students (2 x 2 times, 2 villages) to their Village roads. Good to see the joy on chaps faces when agreed to their requests and dropped them to their places.

Reached home at around 2:30 PM, played with Chotu for sometime :) Slept for ah hour and in evening took Scooter to my Uncle's home and hande over to my Cousin.

Overall was a tiring day. Ready to hit bed now. I hope today its night shift for me with Chotu :) if he wakes up all the night.

NEW DELHI: India entered the third generation mobile era on Thursday with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh launching the country's first 3G network by receiving an inaugural video call and viewing live television on a 3G-enabled mobile handset.

The call was made using the MTNL network at the inauguration of India Telecom 2008 ^ a global telecom conference organized by Ficci. ``This marks a paradigm shift in the use of mobile phones. With up to 2 Mbps capacity, consumers can make video calls, view live television, get video surveillance of their homes or offices on their handsets and, of course, access email speedily on the move,'' R S P Sinha, MTNL's CMD said.

After the debut of 3G services in Delhi, India can look forward to a host of such enhanced and value added services across the country before the end of 2009. It is expected that 3G services will be available early next year in Mumbai and later in Chennai.

Telecom minister A Raja, minister of state Jyotiraditya Scindia, and Rajeev Chandrasekhar, MP and Ficci president, were present when the inaugural 3G call was made.

According to department of telecom sources, information on auction of 3G spectrum to private players for up to four licences per circle will be released on Friday. However, in seven of the 22 telecom circles, spectrum shortage could reduce the number of 3G licences available for the auction which is scheduled to be held by the end of January 2009.

In the run up to the auctions, DoT will hold an investor conference before the end of December. Subsequently, in mid January, mock auctions will also be held a few days before the actual 3G auctions are conducted.
The government has allowed BSNL and MTNL an edge in 3G services by allocating 5 MHz of spectrum in the 2.1 GHz band to them ahead of private players. This may uniquely position BSNL and MTNL to lead the 3G launch across the nation as early as mid-2009.

At present, India has over 330 million mobile subscribers, projected to swell to 650 million by 2012. Spectrum is a vital input for ensuring such massive growth and 3G spectrum will play a critical role as India moves from the current subscriber base to nearly double this figure in the next four years.

It has taken 12 years to add roughly 330 million mobile users but will take only four more years to double this number with 8 to 10 million new subscribers added every month.

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: ' I am blind, please help .' There were only a few coins in the hat.

A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, 'Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?'

Eagerly waiting for Sunday evening so that I can go to mysore to see Chotu and ofcourse Preethi . Simple Naming ceremony at home is there on Monday the 24th Nov 2008. We have to name Chotu with the letter starting from 'L' as per the calculations from priest. So, myself and Preethi has thought that we will keep the Name as 'Lakshman' and while joining him fo school, we will give him a new name,something new and more good one. Lakshman will be religious name and for school records, we will keep new name.

Took Chotu to clinic for check-up

Today, we took chotu to child clinic(Vani Child clinic, Dr. Dattatreya , who is also a visiting consultant at Apollo) for general check-up today. He is reduced to 3.2 KG from 3.26 KG. Chotu is doing fine. Need to go to clinic again after 2 weeks for checkup again.

The big circular thing you hold on to when driving. Apparently, not many of you realise that if you turn this, your car will drift from lane to lane. Most often, you also haven't grasped the basic use of the indicators (see above) so the result is that you'll change lanes, probably surprising yourself, and certainly surprising everyone behind you because you didn't tell us you were going to do it. By the way, when you do this, that grating, scraping, crashing sound from the back
of the car isn't "ordinary car noises" - it means you've hit someone.

Brakes
Now this is a complicated one. The middle pedal in your manual car, or the left pedal in your automatic, is there to slow you down, and even stop you. I mention this because it seems that when you've committed to a bonehead maneuver, and see the motorbike at the last minute, not many of you realise that pushing this pedal will make you stop. Often, if you stop, it will avoid the accident. You don't have to run into us you know - your car will stop if instructed to do so. I think the
problem is that in order to use the brakes, you also need to engage your eyes and your brain at the same time, and for most of you, that does seem to cause some trouble.

Cellphone
Throw the fucking thing away. You can't drive on a good day. Now you're trying to drive while clamping a cellphone to your ear and holding a conversation? I know I said the brain was multitasking, but you know that you can't do all this at the same time. Just throw it away. You're not that important, really - you aren't. And believe me, your phonecall isn't so important that you have to endanger everyone else on the road to take it.

"Sorry, I didn't see you"
This is the phrase that your brain will be desperately trying to get you to say, when you realise that your eyes didn't see the motorbike you just hit because you didn't use your mirrors, brakes or indicators appropriately, and were having an unimportant, inconsequential conversation on your cellphone. You'll step out of the car and find the motorcyclist and you'll be so desperately wanting to say this phrase that you'll not be able to hold back. It's worth knowing that if you do utter these five words to an injured motorcyclist, you are likely to be punched and kicked and otherwise generally assaulted
because these are not words that we like to hear. You say "sorry, I didn't see you". What we hear is "I'm a blind fucking moron and my brain doesn't work". These five words are only marginally less offensive than "Are you okay?"

Crash helmet
This is not so much of a tip as a public information service. Now that you've run the motorcyclist down, and pissed him off by telling him you didn't see him, and asking if he's okay, your next course of action will typically be to try to take his crash helmet off. No, no no no no no no no no a thousand times no. Use your brain. You just nearly killed the guy and now you want to remove the one item of protective gear that might be holding his head together after you swatted him with your Buick? Are you totally deranged? No - don't answer that. If you've got this far into the accident, we all know the answer. You're blind, and stupid. We don't need to add deranged to the list.

Chotu's First night at home

Yesterday night Chotu slept at home for the first time. He did not do lot of naatak. Only woke up some 4-5 times for drinking milk, to pass urine etc., I woke up along with him as and when he woke up. Changed his nappies sometimes. It was total new experience and fun. There were many visitors to see him yesterday . :)

Chotu getting discharged today

Chotu and Preethi will be discharged from hospital today. We are waiting from morning since we confirmed discharge to staff. Billing/Approval processes took whole day. Approximately 35000/- got approved from UHC. We will go home max by 7 PM.

A day with Chotu

I spent whole day today along with Chotu, Preethi in hospital. He was doing all nakhras to sleep next to mom or with someone. If we leave him alone, starts crying. I played with him for more time. Managed to get couple of snaps whe FIL was out. He is very skeptical about taking pictures of new born kids. I'll upload them as soon as I transfer to PC. Apne bete ki foto lene, kisi se darna padta hain bhai. Well, they are old people and believe in lot of myths , just to respect them we should act a bit. :). That's it for today, if anything comes up in mind, will update.

Today evening, I took baby in my hands and supported on thighs, and was holding him for more than 15 mins. After that he was put next to Preethi, he opened his eyes and looke at me for more than 20 seconds, happiness tears were about to flow from my eyes. I was so so happy to see him like that. He was hungry, so I came out the room so that he can drink milk.
Times up, have to go out from hospital. I'll miss him and wifey till morning.

Today, 12th Nov 2008 was one of Happiest day in my Entire Life when my wife Preethi gave birth to cute son at 2.45 PM IST in mysore at Famous Apollo BGS Hospitals. He was weighing 3.25 KG when born. It was not normal delivery, but Ceaserean. Preethi had to suffer with pain , but all went well. Baby and Mom are fine now. Preethi needs some days to recover fully. Chotu Raj is very cute and adorable. Resembles Preethi. Thanks to Dr. Sushma Dattatreya (visiting consultant at BGS) for excellent treatment. She has a own clinic called 'WOMEN's Clinic' in mysore. I thank God for blessing our life with a cute Son.

I called, emailed, orkutted this good news to all my friends and relatives. Everyone was so happy for me. I'm thankful to all their blessings and wishes.

I'm very happy to enter into next phase of life. I know it will be challenging, but I like challenges. Wish me luck.

More details and updates in upcoming posts. Have to sleep, so damn tired. Woke up at 5 in morning and previous night also could not sleep well.

Tips for Managing Stress and Change at Work

Are you experiencing stress at work? Want to learn more about what causes
stress and the impact of stress on people at work?

These five major suggestions will help you manage the stress you experience
at work. Effective stress management is not easy and stress management takes
time and practice. Developing stress management skills is important for your
overall health and well-being, however.

These five stress management tips are in no particular order. They do not
take in the universe of stress management, but these stress management tips
encompass several of the main stress management challenges you experience at
work. Think about your own situation and your own tendencies in stressful
situations to select your best stress management strategies from the list.

1. Control time allocation and goals.
Set realistic goals and time frames for yourself. Remember the Alice in
Wonderland Syndrome from the book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis
Carroll. Alice is walking in a woods. She comes to a fork in the road. Not
knowing which way to go, she asks the Cheshire Cat:

Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?
That depends a good deal on where you want to get to, said the cat.
I don't much care where, said Alice.
Then it doesn't matter, said the cat.
-- so long as I get somewhere, Alice added as an explanation.
Oh, you're sure to do that, said the Cat, if you only walk long enough.

Do you feel this way some days? Setting realistic goals for your day and
year helps you feel directed and in control. Goals give you a yardstick
against which you can measure every time commitment. And, walking long
enough is a stress producer, not a stress management tool.

Scheduling more than you can handle is a great stressor. Not only are you
stressed trying to handle your commitments, you are stressed just thinking
about them. If you are experiencing overload with some activities, learn to
say, "no." Eliminate any activities which you don't have to do. Carefully
consider any time-based commitment you make.

Use an electronic planner to schedule each goal and activity you commit to
accomplish, not just your appointments. If that report will take two hours
to write, schedule the two hours just as you would a meeting. If reading and
responding to email takes an hour per day, schedule the hour.

2. Reconsider all meetings.
Why hold meetings in the first place? An effective meeting serves an
essential purpose - it is an opportunity to share information and/or to
solve a critical problem. Meetings should only happen when interaction is
required. Meetings can work to your advantage, or they can weaken your
effectiveness at work. If much of your time is spent attending ineffective,
time-wasting meetings, you are limiting your ability to accomplish important
objectives at work.

The Wall Street Journal, quoted a study that estimated American managers
could save 80 percent of the time they currently waste in meetings if they
did two things: start and end meetings on time and follow an agenda.

3. You can't be all things to all people - control your time.
Something has to give. Make time for the most important commitments and take
time to figure out what these are. Time management is a systematic approach
to the time of your life applied consistently. The basis of time management
is the ability to control events. A study was done some years ago that
revealed symphony conductors live the longest of any professionals. Looking
into this longevity, researchers concluded that in no other occupation do
people have such complete control over existing events.

In his book, Time Power, Dr. Charles Hobbes suggests that there are five
categories of events:

a) Events you think you cannot control, and you can't.
b) Events you think you cannot control, but you can.
c) Events you think you can control, but you can't.
d) Events you think you can control, but you don't.
e) Events you think you can control, and you can.

There are two major issues about control:

a) Each of us is really in control and in charge of more events than we
generally like to acknowledge.

b) Some things are uncontrollable. Trying to control uncontrollables is a
key cause of stress and unhappiness.

With the competing demands that exist for your time, you probably feel as if
much of your day is not in your control. Feeling not in control is the enemy
of time management. Feeling not in control is one of the major causes of
stress in our daily lives, too.

4. Make time decisions based on analysis.

Take a look at how you currently divide your time. Do you get the little,
unimportant things completed first because they are easy and their
completion makes you feel good? Or, do you focus your efforts on the things
that will really make a difference for your organization and your life.
Events and activities fall into one of four categories. You need to spend
the majority of your time on items that fall in the last two categories.

a) Not Urgent and Not Important
b) Urgent but Not Important
c) Not Urgent but Important
d) Urgent and Important

5. Manage procrastination.

If you are like most people, you procrastinate for three reasons.

a) You don't know how to do the task,
b) You don't like to do the task, or
c) You feel indecisive about how to approach the task.

Deal with procrastination by breaking the large project into as many small,
manageable, instant tasks as possible. Make a written list of every task.
List the small tasks on your daily, prioritized To Do List. Reward yourself
upon completion. If you do procrastinate, you'll find that the task gets
bigger and bigger and more insurmountable in your own mind. Just start.

These tips for managing stress and change will help you change your actions
and your outlook. Best wishes as you implement these ideas. Live a great

Golmaal Returns - Bakwaas Movie!!

Watched Golmaal Returns movie today. And I must say, its a utter bakwaas movie and don't waste your time and money on this movie. Don't go by magazine reviews, ratings and box-office collection news, there is much hype created about this movie by media,I feels. Acting is just ok from all the actors (Ajay Devgan, Kareena, Amrita, Shreyas Talpade , Celina etc.,). Only Arshad Warsi's acting is bit fine. And, there is a most irritating character played by a Tushar Kapoor. He is a Ghoonga in the movie and laughs stupidly and his voice/shouts are so irritating that you will definitely want to kick on his ass if you see him in front of you.

Total useless movie , that's all I can say. If you still wish to take chance by watching it, give a try. :)
